Danish Arif http://blog.danisharif.com Designing for the web, and writing about my escapades while I'm at it. I started off by presenting a single solid color to the client, which I really liked and was glad she loved it too!

HEX: #2E9CB5
RGB:
 (46, 156, 181)
CMYK: (53, 10, 0, 29)

And from there, a logo was born:

One of the things that excited me the most was the vertical line below the header with colors close to the initial Blue we were going with. I felt it gave the website a good starting point to signify that the main content lies ahead.

I wanted to keep things as minimalist as possible and believe I achieved that goal. A kind of “callback,” to the vertical line I spoke of earlier can also be seen right before the footer, once again to signify the end of main content:

All in all a very fun project. Here are all the colors I believe were primarily used:

Mayas Contractors http://blog.danisharif.com/mayas-contractors/ http://blog.danisharif.com/mayas-contractors/#respond Mon, 25 Jan 2016 23:45:49 +0000 http://blog.danisharif.com/?p=34 The one thing that the client knew for certain was the color scheme.

The name Mayas Contractors immediately makes you think of the Mayans and the pyramids.

I liked the idea of using a pyramid and an M hidden in the pyramid, to signify upwards motion, progress, and also stable foundations and sturdiness to appeal to an audience looking for contractors and construction work done.

Hence the following logo was made:

Mayas Contractors

The website was originally seen at www.MayasContractors.com, but is no longer available on the internet. A glimpse of what once was can be seen below:

Tortilleria San Roman http://blog.danisharif.com/tortilleria-san-roman/ http://blog.danisharif.com/tortilleria-san-roman/#respond Wed, 29 Apr 2015 23:32:11 +0000 http://blog.danisharif.com/?p=13 tortilleriawebsite

Website can be seen at www.TortilleriaSanRoman.net

Tortilleria San Roman, located in the Italian Market in South Philadelphia, is one of the city’s favorite Tortillerias’.

People from all around the city seem to know of it, and I was excited to be able to help them construct their brand identity:

The job included:

  • Business Logo
  • Responsive Website
  • Commercial Photography
  • Business Cards Design
  • Search Engine Optimization

A bunch of brainstorming later, and a logo was made, which also ended up on the Business Cards:

The client pride themselves on making Tortillas using home recipes that have been passed down from generations, making them gluten free.

I wanted to express the fact that the Tortilla is a very “light” food product, and did so by using a light blue as the dominant color, as well as using clouds to imply a fresh breeze. The clouds are also “implied,” which leads the viewer to believe they are moving – which further stresses the feeling of a fresh breeze.

All in all, it was a very fun project.

Here’s are the main colors that were used on the project, and the ones I feel really brought out a vibrant feel:
